The Clinical Research Laboratory on Insulin Resistance at FCM-Unicamp is currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellowship. The project aims to investigate the effects of the hormones GIP and GLP-1 on the subclinical inflammatory process of muscle, adipose, vascular, liver and brain tissue in experimental animal models.
The opportunity is open to researchers who have completed their doctorate in the last four years, preferably in Nutrition or related areas. The thesis should focus on topics such as energy metabolism, obesity, diabetes, microbiota, inflammation or neuroendocrinology. Experiences in international collaboration, such as exchanges or part of the doctorate completed at prestigious international institutions, are valued. The candidate must have at least two articles as first author published in international scientific journals.
As for technical skills, the candidate is expected to have proven experience in DNA/RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, PCR, RT-qPCR, ELISA, Western Blot, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, cell culture, stereotaxic surgery, as well as practice with mice and behavioral experiments. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, as well as experience in teaching and supervising students, with experience in laboratory training and research supervision.
The position is open to Brazilians and foreigners. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Postdoctoral Fellowship in the amount of R$12,000.00 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to the research activity.
