Applications are invited for a UCD Post-doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or Level 2 post within Sutherland School of Law.
Applications are invited for one post-doctoral position on a new ERC-funded project at the Centre for Constitutional Studies in University College Dublin. The project investigates the socio-political factors that contribute to the emergence of populism and the weakening of traditional authority structures within six case studies. The overall goal of the project is to identify the factors that shape these processes; and potential responses to them.
This is an advanced academic research role, building on your prior experience as a post-doctoral fellow, where you will conduct a specified programme of research supported by research training under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
The primary purpose of the role is to develop new or advanced research skills and competences, on the processes of publication in peer-reviewed academic publications and scholarly dissemination, the development of funding proposals, and the supervision and mentorship of graduate students along with the opportunity to develop your skills in research led teaching.

In addition to the Principal Duties and Responsibilities listed below, the successful candidate will also carry out the following duties specific to this project:
Contributing to the design of a work programme involving focus groups in the six case studies.
Contributing to the design of a work programme involving interviews with key officials and NGOs in the six case studies.
Supervision and mentoring of PhD students in implementing these research designs.
Post Doc Level 1 Salary Scale: €37,223 - €43,029 per annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependant on qualifications and experience
