Overview:
DevelopMed, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie (MSCA) COFUND Action, is an International Training and Career Development Fellowship Programme led by University College Dublin and coordinated by Systems Biology Ireland (SBI). The Programme offers 12 prestigious Precision Oncology Fellowships to experienced researchers at the early stage of their career.
All fellowships are based in Irish research performing organizations: University College Dublin (UCD), National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG), University College Cork (UCC), and the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences (RCSI). Fellowships also include 3-6 month secondments at any research institution in academic, industry, clinical and/or charity sectors.
DevelopMed prioritizes interdisciplinary training and career support to fellows, with the aim of developing the next generation of leaders in precision oncology.

Fellows will develop and conduct their own research project under the supervision of a principal investigator.
Applicants have the opportunity to choose their research topic amongst a wide range of areas which can be broadly classified within the three general programme themes (Diagnostics, Therapeutics & Drug Development, and the Tumour Microenvironment). Proposals are welcomed from the broad area of -omics driven Precision Oncology, which spans disciplines including molecular bioinformatics, biostatistics, statistical genetics and clinical informatics. All applicants must, at the time of the deadline for submission of proposals, be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience.
Fellowships are open to candidates of any nationality, who at the time of the deadline for submission of proposals, shall not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, study, etc.) in Ireland for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to the deadline for submission date. Applicants may also not have resided or carried out their main activity in the Republic of Ireland for more than 3 years in the 5 years immediately prior to the call deadline.
